Students of the University of Sheffield in the UK managed to photograph the moon with a telescope assemblies made at a cost of less than Rp2 million.
Researchers from the University of Sheffield who is behind this project claim that the image quality of the telescope Pikon can be compared with a telescope that costs 10 times more expensive.
People can upload and print the number of components required to assemble these devices online.
Picture telescope was launched as part of a science festival in the city.
The telescope is photographing a lot of pictures of the lunar surface during its first use.
Physicist Mark Wrigley, one of the developers of this Pikon, said he hopes the new telescope will be a "battering ram" in the field of photography space.
