Maven NASA will enter Mars orbit

MAVEN Spacecraft US-owned space agency, NASA, is scheduled to enter the orbit of Mars on Monday.

Having crossed the space for 10 months, Maven must be braked by firing speed booster.

Combustion for 33 minutes will be enough to reduce the speed of Maven, to allow the satellite was captured by the gravity of Mars.

Maven was sent to study the Red Planet's atmosphere with the high purpose of trying to understand the processes that lead to the loss of most of the air.

Today, the air pressure is so low that the free water on the surface of the planet would instantly boil.

Data Maven will allow scientists to build models of the current climatic conditions and past Mars more accurately.

"The plane-spacecraft measurements have previously been made and we have learned a lot about the upper atmosphere, but we have not been able to get the whole picture," said principal investigator Bruce Jakosky.
India rides followed

"I hope the probe will be finding mission, which observed that almost all will bring us a new insight into fundamental about Mars today's environment and how it evolved over time," added Boulder, University of Colorado researchers.

Maven Monday maneuvering engines (22/09) tomorrow will put the satellite in orbit around the oval planet 35 hours.

Conservation Maven on the entry to be received by the Earth Mars orbit some time after 2:20 pm GMT (8:20 pm).

The entry of NASA's MAVEN spacecraft to orbit Mars will be followed just 48 hours later by Mangalyaan, India's first mission to the Red Planet.
